Khyber Pakhtunkhwa: Mingora’s government primary school awaits promised reforms

PESHAWAR (Monitoring Desk): Promises made by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government to carry out reforms in the education sector of the province turned out to be false, the evidence of which is a school located not in any rural area but in the central city of Swat.

Mingora’s Government Primary School Rahimabad, lacking a proper building for the past 37 years, is an open-air school where children are forced to study right under the naked sky.

As there are no schools for young girls in the area, they along with the students of Rahimabad Boys’ Primary School are forced to seek education while sitting on the ground even in extreme weather conditions.

While the children of Rahimabad’s Government Primary School are forced to suffer at the hands of authorities that are negligent regarding the provision of proper furniture and other necessities, the condition of the school is a proof of the provincial government’s failure that had made promises to reform the education sector.
