Although, Akshay and Kiara will be sharing screen space in Good News, it will be the first time we will see the two stars paired up together on screen. After making her Bollywood debut with the 2014-film Fugly, Kiara was seen in the superhit M.S.Dhoni: The Untold Story opposite Sushant Singh Rajput. Her next release will be Good News, which along with Akshay Kumar also stars Kareena Kapoor Khan and Diljit Dosanjh. A report in a leading daily, gave out details regarding Kiara being approached for the film. In the report, a source  stated, “Kiara has almost been confirmed for the role, and now only the final formalities are being worked out. Akshay is currently busy with Good News (starring Kareena Kapoor Khan), post which he will get on this project. The remake has been on Akshay’s mind for a long time now and he’s happy that finally things are falling into place.”

On the work front, Akshay Kumar was last seen in the war film, Kesari, opposite Parineeti Chopra. The film received an excellent response from the audience and has already gone past the 100 crore mark.
