King Khan to star in the remake of ‘Mersal’

MUMBAI: Shah Rukh Khan was last seen in Anand L Rai’s Zero which released back in December 2018. Ever since then, there have been rumours that have linked King Khan to many projects. However, the actor hasn’t officially confirmed his next film yet. Recently, at an event when he was asked about his next role, he said, “My next role will be as sexy as my last one. So you want me to be a sexy father, a sexy hero, sexy whatever you want me to be. My next role will be as sexy as you want me to be.”

As per a report in a leading daily, the actor will star in the remake of Thalapathy Vijay’s blockbuster Mersal, which was directed by Atlee. The rumours of the same began doing rounds when Shah Rukh Khan was spotted sitting next to Atlee at the Chennai Super Kings Vs Kolkata Knight Riders game last night. Talking about Mersal, the film had collected over Rs 250 crore at the worldwide box office during its theatrical run and turned out to be Vijay’s biggest blockbuster ever. It also earned the title of being the first Tamil film to release in China.

Along with Vijay, the film also starred Samantha Akkineni, Kajal Aggarwal, and Nithya Menen in key roles. Vijay was seen portraying a triple role in the film.
