Vjosa Osmani orders election commission to prepare early parliamentary elections for Feb. 14

Kosovo’s President Vjosa Osmani dissolved the Assembly on Wednesday and called early parliamentary elections for Feb. 14.

Earlier today, the Kosovo Constitutional Court issued a full verdict declaring the election of Avdulah Hoti’s government illegal.

Osmani also issued a decree dissolving the Assembly.

Kosovo’s Central Election Commission (CEC) was ordered to take all necessary actions for the organization and holding of parliamentary elections.

Osmani’s decision is based on constitutional responsibilities and the ruling of the Constitutional Court and followed talks with parliamentary parties and the Central Election Commission.
