KP artists, folk singers present musical salute to medics

PESHAWAR: Noted artists, vocalists, instrumentalists, and music bands from parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and tribal districts uploaded their videos to show solidarity with doctors, nurses and paramedical staff fighting against corona virus threat in the hospitals and medical centres. Humanity must sing to praise and recognize the exemplary services of the medics across the globe, said the social media musical releases.

Artists, vocalists, instrumentalists from Malakand, Swat, Swabi, Mardan, Nowshera, Bannu, Kohat and Khyber districts uploaded videos in which they paid tribute to doctors and healthcare givers for their services in the most difficult time and hoped the medics would continue their fight against the corona pandemic till its end.

Folk singers sang songs and poems praising the unflinching services of the frontline soldiers who remained busy in attending on the corona virus patients away from their own families and love ones. They said medics should be extended every kind of cooperation s that they could serve their jobs in the best possible manner. Poets and writers should also praise services of the medics and should come up with appreciation and should guide general masses to follow their guidelines regarding social distancing and healthcare measures.

Doctors being healers deserve kudos for serving humanity at the risk of their own lives and also most left their dear and near ones to attend on patients they didn’t know so a prideful salute was one humble gesture to show that the medics were not alone , said one video shared by Amjad Shahzad an, artist from Malakand.

Amjad Shahzad, noted poet and folk artist told this scribe that doctors and paramedical staff deserved great respect and their services should be recognized at all levels because they served the humanity at the risk of their own lives. He said folk artists required to sing out services of the health care workers in the current pandemic as medics ran a greater risk to serve the ailing humanity. He said he also appealed masses to follow instructions of the doctors to make their work easier.

 Senior folk singer, Fazal Wahab Dard shared a Pashto poem on his Facebook page praising doctors in his unique style and asked his fans to follow directives regarding healthcare and respect sincere services being delivered by the medics during global outbreak. “It’s the doctors who serve us while we fall sick and when even our close relatives keep a distance. I sing to salute to those angelic nurses who attend on patients to give them hope of life,” his song said.

Popular Rabab player, Gluabkhel Afridi played out beautiful tunes on his instrument expressive of appreciation and gratitude for healthcare staff. In a video message he said he played out a few tunes on Rabab for presenting salute to doctor’s community adding that was what he could do in his humble capacity as an instrumentalist .

“I doctors are the shining hope against fight the fatal outbreak, we must stand up together to not only appreciate their all-out efforts but also follow their instructions to stay home and keep social distance. I think it will be a real tribute to all health workers,” Mr Afridi said.

Farhan Bogra of popular music Band Khumariyaan released a video on his official Facebook page paying a tribute to late Dr Usma Riaz from Gilgit Baltistan who laid down his life in line of duty against corona outbreak months ago. His video carried a fusion of traditional and modern music with a tune of national anthem dedicated to Dr Usama Riaz and all health care workers.
