KP govt committed to create job opportunities for youth

PESHAWAR: Provincial Finance Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Taimur Saleem Jhagra, said on Wednesday that provincial government’s foremost priority is to provide job opportunities to youth and Rs05billion have been allocated in the province to provide interest-free loans to youngsters and Rs01billion for merged areas students.

He said this during the concluding ceremony of three days Olympiad 19 at Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Women University in Peshawar held in collaboration with L-Mintrix Elements. Finance Minister applauded steps taken by the Vice Chancellor of SBBWU for the females of the province. He said that the females need to change the way they think. They need to break the barriers in order to fulfill and struggle for their dreams while abiding by the culture of the Pukhtoon society.

Sense of achievement and working hard for it is the right of every female of this society and we should facilitate them, he commented. He furthered that KP government has prioritized to create employment opportunities to the youth. In this regard, Rs05billion have been allocated in KP to provide interest free loans to the youngsters and Rs01billion is allocated for FATA students.

Mr Jhagra, who was chief guest on the occasion claimed that provincial government was devising strategy to fulfill the need of teachers by recruiting 65,000 teachers in the province. Regarding rescue 1122 services, he informed that it would be expanded to all KP including merged districts and no compromise will be made to provide opportunities to people of erstwhile-FATA.

The main aim of organizing this event was to promote sports activities among females of KP and to expose and enhance their leadership skills. However eight different activities in ceremony took place including Cricket, Tug of War, Badminton, Ludo, Scavenger Hunt, Makeup Mania, Painting, and Parliamentary debates. All the activities were designed in such a way that to ensure active participation and involvement of students in it, spokesman of the varsity added. 

Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Razia Sultana while speaking to the audience said that our mission is to educate and empower the females of the province and to ensure that no stone is left unturned to provide opportunities to the students. She said we are trying our best to provide all the facilities to the students in the university and the previous PTI government supported us immensely and provided us different facilities including infrastructure. 

We need a proper gymnasium and student hostels and we request the sitting government to facilitate us in this regard, she added.

The event ended with prize distribution ceremony among the winners and organizers. The chief guest visited various stalls displayed by the sponsors of the event and appreciated their contribution and planted a tree in the university ground and became a part of university’s green drive.
