LAKKI MARWAT: JUI-F MPA Malik Noor Salim Marwat has said that the present government has established and developed playgrounds with public sector educational institutions as sports and co curriculum activities help to keep students physically and mentally fit for education.
He expressed these views while speaking as chief guest at prize distribution ceremony of district middle schools sports tournament festival in government middle school Kalan near Lakki city. The tournament general secretary Faqeer Abdul Saboor shed light on the annual sports gala and apprised the chief guest and participants about achievements of state run middle schools in sports.
DDEO Aqil Badshah, ADO sports Nisar Muhammad, heads of schools, area elders, parents and students were also present on the occasion. The lawmaker distributed trophies, shields and prizes among the players of winner and runner up teams and their coaches.
He sppreciated students for their outstanding performance in the field of sports and said that schools played the role of nurseries for promotion of sports at the grass roots level.
“The schools can produce top class players therefore the government should ensure provision of sports facilities in all institutions”, he maintained. He said that the district was rich in sports talent as the players belonging to it shined the name of country on world level.
He claimed that on his request the government built standardised buildings of higher secondary schools and developed schools’ playgrounds in his constituency during the last over four anf half years. He said that besides approving establishment of university from government he had also taken up the case of establishing a girl’s degree college and up gradation of high school to higher secondary level in PK-75 with higher quarters concerned.
Mr Saleem advised the students to avoid wasting time in useless activities and focus on education to make themselves prepared for future challenges.
