KP govt issues SOPs for districts to facilitate masses

PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has issued Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for provision of better facilities to the people at their door steps and activating district administration of the whole province.

According to these SOPs, the district administration, all departments, and police would solve the problems of people by keeping coordinated liaison with each other. In the directives issued from the office of Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, all the deputy commissioners have been asked to be in constant touch with the people for ensuring timely provision of all government and basic facilities in their respective districts.

They have been directed to hold Khuli Kachehries, establish public complaints cell in their offices, erect telephone/Fax and arrange monitoring system. They have further been directed to take timely action to check hoarding, sale of items injurious to health, eradication of adulteration and encroachments. All the deputy commissioners have been asked to prepare Action Plan at sub Division level and to monitor the same by themselves and ensure the provision of in time assistance of police to DPOs on need basis.

Through the SOPs, the Chief Secretary while stressing for self accountability and transparency has directed the concerned commissioners and secretaries of the departments to keep vigilant eye over inspecting and monitoring all the affairs and apprise the government in writing from all the steps taken in this regard.

Under the SOPs, Progress Review Committees at divisional level under the chairmanship of commissioners have been established that would hold its meeting every month. Home Department, Prosecution, IGP and performance Management and Reforms Unit have been directed to play their active role.
