KP govt takes revolutionary steps for promotion of education

TARBELA GHAZI: Director Education Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Rafique Khattak has said that KP government had taken several effective steps for the promotion of education in the province. He added that people are now trusting the government institutions and enrolling their children instead of private schools and so far more than 160000 children were admitted KP school which is the biggest example of people trust in this regard.

Rafique Khattak said this while was addressing to a farewell party in Jab village of Haripur. The function was arranged by Nargas Kiani, the former leader of teacher association. On the occasion, Khattak said that KP government remained very keen for enhancement of education standard and provision maximum of facilities to the government schools and teachers community. He added that KP government had spent Rs 29 billion rupees for construction of boundary walls around the schools to ensure the security and safety, provision of electricity and water supply beside Rs eight billion for provision of furniture to the government schools.

He claimed that 40,000 new teachers had been inducted whereas appointment process of further 70 thousand teachers was undergoing. He further said that strict merit was followed for the appointments of all teaching staff. He also announced the construction of new building for Government Higher School Jab and up gradation of Girls Middle School Jab as higher secondary school.

Rafique Khattak further added that decision had been taken for up-gradation of basic pay scales of teachers in a meeting held few days back in light of recommendation of the Task force established by the KP government for the betterment of education in the province. Former MNA and PTI leader Raja Aamar Zaman also participated in the function. While addressing to the participants of the function, he highly praised the services of Director Education Rafique Khattak which he rendered for the education department KP.

Raja Aamar added that provision of education to each and every children residing in his constituency remained top priority of his father and his all family members as well. He said that a net of educational institutions was spread in district Haripur during the tenure of his father former federal minister Raja Sikandar Zaman and he brought an educational revelation in the area especially in the far-flung hilly areas and provided them educational facilities at their door steps. Chairman of different educational boards, secretaries, special secretaries, education directors, district education officers, former provincial minister Fareed Tofan, leaders of teachers associations and large number of other educational staff also attended the function.
