PESHAWAR: In a major decision on Wednesday, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government decided to lay off 1800 employees who were hired during the interim government.
Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur said his administration would go ahead with the decision and was also ready to face the protest by the illegally hired persons.
He said the provincial government would not give income to those who were hired through an illegal process while adding those who came on merit need not be afraid of anything.
He said the caretaker government did not have the authority to hire 1,800 employees in the first place.
“Any person who dodged merit and a due process should be ready to face the consequences,” Gandapur thundered.
