KP PA passes Elementary Education Bill

PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly passed The Elementary and Secondary Education Department (Appointment and Regularization of Services) Bill, 2017.

The services of about forty thousand teachers appointed initially on ad-hoc basis have been regularized with the passing of the bill. The house also passed a resolution asking the federal government for early merger of tribal areas in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Speaking on a call attention notice, Parliamentary leader of Awami National Party Sardar Hussain Babak said a special development package should be announced for tribal areas to bring it at par with the rest of the country. Later, Speaker Asad Qaiser adjourned the session till 15th of next month.
