PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Association of Government Engineers (KPAGE) continued protest on the day staging a peaceful demonstration in Civil Secretariat here on Tuesday. The demonstration was participated by engineers working in various government departments including communication, irrigation, construction local government KP Highway Authority and urban development.
Engineers pressed their demands including promotion, service structure, professional allowance and quota of B Tech Engineers. Speaking on the occasion, Secretary KPAGE said that despite engineers are performing duties in each and every department of national construction, they are being ignored and conversely doctors, clerks and PMS Officers are being provided all their perks and privileges.
Association officer bearers in their speeches threatened a pen down strike if all the rightful demands of engineers’ community were not addressed. Adviser to Chief Minister on Communication and Construction, Akbar Ayub met with protesting engineers and assured them to inform CM regarding their demands and concerns.
