Kuwait to send Palestinian medical students to Gaza hospitals

GAZA: Kuwait will fund a program that aims to send senior students in medical colleges across Palestine to Gaza hospitals, state news agency KUNA reported on Saturday.

The program, launched by the University College of Applied Sciences in Gaza (UCAS) and funded by Kuwait’s International Islamic Charity Organization, aims to deploy 350 Palestinian students, expected to graduate this year, in Gaza hospitals to support with much-needed medical efforts during the ongoing war.

In a statement, the UCAS’s Vice Chancellor Mohammad Mushtaha said the program, which will see the young medical practitioners in Gaza hospitals for five months, provides an opportunity for talented students to gain real-life experience in a challenging environment and develop their medical skills, while responding to the growing need for medical care in the war-ravaged enclave.

Mushtaha thanked the Kuwaiti government for the support to Palestinians across all fields.
