Lahore DC reviews preparations for Pakistan Day marathon race

F.P. Report

LAHORE: Lahore Deputy Commissioner Saleha Saeed on Thursday reviewed preparations for the marathon race going to take place at Gaddafi Stadium Lahore on March 23, Pakistan Day.

Talking to media, Saleha Saeed said all preparations for the marathon race had been completed.

She said the 10 kilometer race would start from Boulevard and would pass through Jail Road and culminate at the football stadium. She said the race would be followed by a concert of Aima Baig at Al-Hamra Open Air.

The Lahore DC said she visited the stadium to review preparations for the race, which will begin at 10:00 am on Saturday.

The district administration and security organisations have began planning for the marathon race.

Only registered members would be allowed to take part in marathon race.

Karachi Kings, the most expensive and popular cricket team of the Pakistan Super League, had on January 29 organised a marathon race at ‘Teen Talwar’ Clifton.

A reception camp set up at the venue welcomed the large number of participants. The event was aimed at promoting healthy sport activities among the citizens.

The marathon race had culminated at Do Talwar roundabout. Organised under the title “Karachi Dorey Ga”, prominent politicians, showbiz figures, cricketers, social activists and civil society representatives had graced the occasion with their presence.
