ISLAMABAD: The government established Langar Khanas are becoming a hotspot as more than 200 people gathered in premises waiting in quae for collecting food adopting no precautionary measures and social distancing Frontier Post has learnt.
On Monday evening more than 200 people gathered in one of Langar Khana mostly laborers and waiting in quae for obtaining dinner without any safety measures that was observed.
A security guard performing duty on the spot told Frontier Post that the capital administration have installed CCTV cameras to monitor langar khanas but this is not possible because only two security guards are deployed on the premises and not possible to control the people gathered here.
It should be noted here that till yet in federal capital Islamabad around 181 confirmed cases reported and 3 patients lost their lives from the infection following 10 new cases reported in past 24 hours.
A daily wager Iqbal Khan from Kohat waiting in quae told Frontier Post that we are aware of the risk of deadly virus but we have no alternative option to use because all food outlets are closed due to the breakdown of the virus and if we didn’t collect food from here we sleep without food in night. He mentioned that the number of labors are more but the food are limited that’s why we didn’t adopt safety measures to safeguard ourselves from the infection of the deadly covid-19.
The Deputy Commissioner Islamabad initially mentioned that the Islamabad administration will take strict measures to control crowd on these Langar Khanas but still administration failed to manage the affairs.
