Law awareness session boycotts in LandiKotal

LANDI KOTAL: Tribal elders and elites boycotted an awareness session pertaining strengthening rule of law program was held here in LandiKotaljirga hall on Thursday. The activity that ended without result was organized Khyber Pakhtunkwa Bar Council and legal experts including the bar council members Razaullah Khan advocate, Mess Khusnood advocate, ShahidRayaz advocate, Syed Zahid Jamal Bacha and President Khyber Bar Council TajMahalAfridi.

At the beginning of the program, all elders rose at their seats and objected on arranging of such kind of activity without taking them on-board. They left the hall in protest and the session ended without result.

The elders were on the view that after abolishing of Frontier Crime Regulation (FCR) and merging of the ex-tribal regions the concern authorities conducted unnecessary actions in the merged districts however they had turned blind eyes towards problems of the tribesmen being faced by them for the last seven decades.

“The authorities busy in setting up police stations and judicial courts in our areas but ironically they do not care of poor health, educational and others facilities available”, they remarked. Syed Zahid Jamal Bacha advocate said that the purpose of initiating the moot was supposed to inform residents of the merged tribal districts of legal aid and to appraise them of criminal law and fundamental rights under the Constitution. Regular law had been extended to the ex-tribal agencies and it would be benefited for the people to keep them aware of it as early they could, he added.
