Leaders’ guilt, Naya or old Pakistan

Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party (IPP) Patron-in-Chief Jahangir Khan Tareen has expressed his commitment to fulfill the ‘dream of a Naya Pakistan,’ in the party’s maiden power show on Saturday. Addressing the IPP’s rally in Jehanian, Jahangir Tareen highlighted ideals and ambitions that initially drove the now IPP leaders to join Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI). According to him, they all came together to make Pakistan better about ten years ago and devised a comprehensive plan and put best efforts to envision the idea of economically stable and financially prosperous Pakistan. However, these dreams remained unfulfilled and after coming to power all ideological leaders were gradually replaced one by one and strangers with no vision and political ideology took the reins of the government.

The lories of Naya Pakistan, a better Pakistan, a stable and prosperous Pakistan are the fascinating words and attractive terminology that arrested the hearts and minds of young Pakistan over the past one and half decade. In pursuit of the mission Naya Pakistan, the enthusiastic Pakistani youth not only lost their morality and patience but betrayed their family, friends and the nation as well. Although Tareen and Aleem parted their ways with the Naya Pakistan mission during the early months of the PTI rule, several leaders joined his cabal as political rituals to pay off their blunder of launching a crusade against the state and national institutions.

Politics is a unique business, in which nationalist politicians present themselves all time green and portray their adversaries red and round. Former PTI leaders lambasted their colleagues from other political parties calling them infidels, corrupt and thieves during their tenure in office. Tareen himself faced allegations of involvement in a sugar scam but escaped accountability due to his jet jargons and elite services to his previous party. Interestingly, all so-called pure have now joined the Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party to work for Tareeen’s Naya Pakistan after actively lobbying for an exclusive version of Khan’s Pakistan. Historically, nationalist ideas, hatred, intolerant behaviors and radical politics have brought the country to the verge of collapse, however, a cabal of politicians still mulling the same ideology to carve out a nation of their choice. The Quaid-e-Azam had founded one and real Pakistan, if a leader has some guts to serve the nation he must contribute in good faith but no one should mislead the public in the ploy of Naya, old or Asili Pakistan.
