LEAs arrest 77 suspects from Lahore in a search operation

LAHORE:  At least 77 suspects were arrested in a joint search operation conducted by police, Rangers and Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) personnel in different parts of Lahore.

As per the law enforcement agencies, the search operation was conducted in Faisal Town, Kot Lakhpat, Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Garden Town, Data Darbar, Race Course, Civil Lines and Nawan Kot areas of provincial capital.

The forces checked hostels, hotels and guest houses situated in these areas and conducted door-to-door search in some areas.  The forces used the biometric devices for the identification of documents of the people and arrested 77 suspects who were failed to provide any documents.

Police told that the search operation was conducted with the aim to maintain the law and order situation in the area.

Police informed that strict monitoring was continues in the localities in the surrounding areas of Mall Road before the Sri Lanka team tour to Lahore for a T20 match against Pakistan.
