LAHORE: In a breakthrough development, the law-enforcement agencies have arrested two alleged facilitators of the Lahore bomb blast on Friday.
The security personnel arrested the two facilitators from the Ravi Road area of the city this morning.
According to sources, the arrested facilitators have now been shifted to an unknown place for further interrogation.
The security personnel nabbed with the help of the CCTV footage obtained from the area.
Earlier, the investigators send the pictures of the alleged terrorists to NADRA for identification after completing the geo-fencing of the area.
Earlier, in an important development in Lahore’s Anarkali Bazaar bomb blast, the authorities managed to obtain CCTV footage of the alleged terrorists and their facilitators doing recce of the bazaar.
It has emerged that the facilitators were in contact with each other on the telephone.
On the other hand, police have registered a case of the terror incident, in which murder and terror-related sections have been inserted.
Earlier, the law enforcement agencies have identified the terrorist who planted the bomb after recovering the complete footage of the blast. The police and intelligence agencies had succeeded in identifying the terrorist with the help of the footage.
The TV channel report said that the alleged terrorist arrived at the scene on a motorcycle and left a bag there which exploded four minutes later.
Meanwhile, of the 19 injured who had been shifted to the provincial capital’s Mayo Hospital’s Surgical Ward, 10 have been discharged from the hospital after the provision of initial treatment, while nine others were still under treatment till the filing of this report. Sources in the hospital told 24News that the condition of three of them namely Shiraz, Ahmad and Faisal was stated to be critical.
A huge bomb explosion had rocked Anarkali, Lahore’s busiest shopping market, yesterday (on Thursday, January 20, 2022), killing three people and injuring 28 others.
Rescue 1122 officials said that two of the dead were identified as 31-year-old Muhammad Ramzan and 9-year-old Absar. Absar’s maternal uncle Faizan said the victim belonged to Kashmir and was shopping at Anarkali before moving to Karachi with his uncle Faizan. Later, 18-year-old Yasir succumbed to his injuries as the death toll reached three with 28 injured still admitted to the hospital and three are in critical condition.
