FARYAB: Afghanistan Ministry of Defense (MoD) claimed that at least 11 Taliban fighters including their two local commanders were killed and dozen other injured in an operation conducted by Afghan security forces operations in different parts of the country.
MoD added that the operation was launched in Faryab, Helmand, Uruzgan and Farah provinces to clear the area of insurgents on Wednesday.
The MoD statement added that two local Taliban commanders were killed in Faryab district of Afghanistan and four insurgents were killed in Nad Ali district of southern Helmand province while three insurgents were killed in the Uruzgan operation.
Similarly, three other insurgents were killed in Bala Blook district of Farah province.
However, the statement did not provide further details about the operations.
