At least 80 terrorists killed in northern Iraq claims Turkey

ANKARA: The Turkish armed forces claimed that at least 80 terrorists were killed in airstrikes conducted on Kurdish militant’s hideouts in northern Iraq on Wednesday.

The Turkish military officials told that dozens of members of outlawed Kurdish Workers Party (PKK) were also injured in the airstrikes. It added that forces also damaged the

The strikes also damaged PKK shelter and hideouts and also destroyed cache of weapons and armored vehicles.

The PKK has started a rebellion movement inside Turkey since 1984 and the organization is blacklisted as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the United States and the European Union.

After the collapse of a two-year ceasefire in 2015, Turkish military operations against the PKK intensified in southeastern Turkey. Turkish forces regularly conducted airstrikes against PKK militants who have rear bases in the Qandil mountain area of Iraq.
