At least Taliban fighters killed in Wardak operation

KABUL: As many as sixteen Taliban fighters were killed in an operation conducted by Afghan Police in Maidan Wardak province on Tuesday.

Police added that the operation clean up was started against the armed group to make sure to clean the area from the insurgents and provide healthy and peaceful environment to the masses.

Police officials added that apart from Afghan police, army, special force and commandos also took part in the operation and killed at least sixteen Taliban fighters including local commanders Qari Yousaf, Qari Mustafa and Qari Farid.

Police added that three other insurgents were seriously injured in the operation. Police informed that the operation was conducted in ten villages of the Wardak including Ali Khel, Zamni, Zeyolat, Ismail Khel, Mohammad Noor Khel and Dar-e-Kuhna Khomar villages.
