Legendary comedian Umar Sharif hospitalized in Germany after health deteriorates

ISLAMABADL: Legendary comedian Umar Sharif, who is on his way to the US in an air ambulance, was hospitalized in Germany after his health deteriorated.

The legendary comedian will spend the night in Germany as he caught mild fever and tiredness due to a prolonged journey.

Dr Tariq Shahab, who accompanied the comedy king, said that Umar Sharif contracted fever due to restlessness and doctors have examined his medical condition.

“Air Ambulance will spend the night in Germany and then next morning it will leave for the US,” Dr Shahab said.

Dr Tariq Shahab further said that the heart surgery of Umar Sharif will take three to four days.

The air ambulance took Umar Sharif from Karachi’s Old Airport on Tuesday noon for the United States where he will receive medical treatment.

About an hour before the departure the legendary comedian was shifted from Aga Khan Hospital to the airport where the doctors carried out his medical check-up before boarding the plane.

Umar was set to travel on a German air ambulance to Washington, where he will be treated at the George Washington University Hospital.

Civil Aviation Authority had allowed the aircraft to land in Pakistan on September 26, Sunday.

Umar Sharif was to travel without his family. Umar’s first wife and sons, Jawad and Fawad, were booked on a commercial flight by the Sindh Health Department.
