Legendry comedian Umar Sharif issued US visa

KARACHI: It seemed the luck in on Umar Sharif’s side as the Pakistani comedy king was issued a visa by the US Consulate in Karachi on Thursday.

Umar Sharif has been under treatment at a local hospital in Karachi, suffering from multiple ailments whose simultaneous treatment was not easy.

The federal and Sindh governments are working to send Umar Sharif abroad for treatment.

Breaking the news of visa issuance, Karachi Administrator Barrister Murtaza Wahab offered his thanks to the US Consul General in Karachi for issuing visa to Umar Sharif.

Earlier, Umar Sharif’s family revealed that the comedy king would have to undergo open-heart surgery in Pakistan if he could not travel to the US while the open-heart procedure could prove threatening for his health as he is suffering from multiple ailments.

The recent development came as a clip surfaced on the internet in which comedian Sharif can be seen requesting Prime Minister Imran Khan to take note of his deteriorating health and help finance his treatment abroad.

Earlier, Federal Minister for Information and Fawad Chaudhry and Sindh Governor Imran Ismail has announced on behalf of the federal government that all the required treatment facilities will be provided to the legendary comedian who has renal and cardiovascular issues.
