LAHORE: The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Thursday adjourned hearing into former railways minister Khawaja Saad Rafique and his brother Khawaja Salman in paragon city scandal until April 1.
A two-judge bench headed by Justice Malik Shehzad Ahmed heard the case, here today.
During hearing of the plea, the counsel of Khawaja brothers informed the court that, he is unable to present his arguments in the case as the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has not provided the copies of witnesses’ statements.
Later, the court adjourned the hearing of the bail plea until April 1.
Khawaja brothers through their counsel had submitted a bail plea that the bureau nominated them in the case without having any incriminating evidence against them.
They said they had extended full cooperation to the NAB during investigation and provided all documents to prove that they had not link to the Paragon City Society.
The applicants said they were being punished by the corruption watchdog on political grounds.
NAB had launched an investigation into the alleged scam in November after a number of victims staged protests and held a press conference at the Lahore Press Club against what they termed housing society’s fraud.
