LAHORE: The Lahore High Court (LHC) has declared detention of Pakistan Tahreek-e-Insaf (PTI) member of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Legislative Assembly (MLA) Ghulam Mohiuddin Dewan as illegal and ordered his immediate release.
A single bench of the Lahore High Court comprising Justice Asjad Javed Ghural on Friday heard the petition filed by Saba Dewan wife of the detained PTI leader.
During the hearing Punjab government counsel said that the petition is already fixed for hearing on Monday (September 23, 2024), after his arguments the court expressed its anger
The court asked the Punjab government’s counsel about the reason, availability of material for MLA’s detention.
After hearing the arguments from both sides, the court declared detention of MLA Ghulam Mohiuddin as illegal and ordered authorities to release him immediately.
