F.P. Report

TIMERGARA: The Lower Dir administration and officials of food department started distribution of subsidised flour bags among local residents at bazaars during which long queues of people were seen on Sunday at Talash, Timergara, Chakdara and Samar Bagh.

The assistant commissioner Adenzai Tariq Hussain distributed 600 subsidised flour bags of 20 kg each among the local residents in different union council.

Similarly the administration supervised the flour distribution process at Timergara and other bazaar. Media reports about the expected shortage of wheat flour in the markets have irked residents.

An official of the administration said there had been no shortage of wheat flour in the district.

The Lower Dir district food controller Abu Bakar also rejected reports about shortage of wheat and said the food department had enough stock. He said that all the seven mills in the district had been directed to provide 2300 flour bags to Timergara, 2000 to Adenzai, 1000 to Lal Qilla and 1500 to Samar Bagh tehsil daily.

The official said that 620 flour bags were being provided to the neighbouring Bajaur district too.

Also in the day the district finance officer Hafiz Hafeezullah on the direction of deputy commissioner Saadat Hassan visited development projects of the Community Driven Local Development (CDLD) policy of the government at Jabagai and Sangipara villages of Samar Bagh tehsil.

It was found that PCC work on road under the shade of  Zaray Falahi Tanzim, a local community organisation was incomplete. The President of local CBO assured that the remaining work would be completed this month.
