PARIS (Feb 12, 2025); French President Emmanuel Macron has strongly opposed former U.S. President Donald Trump’s reported plans for the displacement of Palestinians in Gaza, calling for “respect” for their rights and those of neighboring Arab nations.
In an interview with CNN, Macron dismissed the idea of relocating Gaza’s population, stating, “You cannot say to 2 million people, ‘Okay, now guess what? You will move.’ The right answer is not a real estate operation, this is a political operation.”
Macron also reiterated his criticism of Israel’s military actions in Gaza, saying he disagreed with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. He condemned the large-scale offensive, which he argued has harmed civilians, and urged a political resolution instead.
