TIMERGARA: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chief minister Mahmood Khan on Friday said the Pakistan Tehreek Insaf workers in Dir have proved that party workers would sweep the local bodies’ polls to be held on March 31. He was addressing a big gathering held at the Dir Scouts’ ground in Balambat. The PTI arranged the gathering that was also addressed by the Prime Minister Imran Khan, foreign minister Shah Mahmood Qurishi, federal minister Murad Saeed and others.
The chief minister warned the PTI disgruntled workers contesting the LB polls as independents to withdraw their nomination papers within a week or they would be served show cause notices and would be expelled from the party. A group of strong activists including Ali Shah Mishwani in Samarbagh, Syed Alam Shah in Balambat, Malik Inam Khan in Timergara, Malik Abdullah Shah in Lal Qila and Farooq Rehman in Adenzai tehsil are contesting for the tehsil top slots as independents in Lower Dir. The CM asked the workers to vote only for the ‘Bat’ and not vote for the independents. Referring to the opposition leaders he said that one bat was sufficient for all the dacoits. About the LB polls in Dir he said the PTI would compete with the Jamaat-i-Islami not the diesel and robbers.
Mahmood Khan said though the election commission of Pakistan had imposed ban on announcing development projects, yet he was promising that work on the Dir Motorway would start soon. He said the Timergara Medical College would also be completed during the current year.
The chief minister said that he was well aware of the demands of the local people and he was promising to complete the Gopalum Irrigation scheme. He said the Timergara campus of the Abdul Wali Khan University would be made a full-pledge university.
Appreciating the PTI Dir workers the CM said that they would grab the capital Islamabad once the party chief gave them a call. The workers shouted ‘pasawa pasawa’ (don’t tell lies) on him when he said that he visited once in a month to Dir while re-announcing some of the development schemes in the district. The Prime Minister Imran Khan was also present on the stage at this moment.
JI meeting: The JI former MPA Saeed Gul on Friday said that his party would win in Maidan with a big margin. He was addressing a gathering at Lal Qila as chief guest on the occasion.
The JI candidate for tehsil chairman slot in Maidan Fazal wadood and others also addressed the gathering. Saeed Gul claimed that most of the development projects in Maidan were completed by the JI lawmakers during the previous government. He asked the participants to vote for his party on March 31.
