ISLAMABAD: Islamabad High Court (IHC) Thursday reserved decision on a petition against former President Musharraf whether the petition is maintainable or not.
The petition was moved by Col (R) Inam-ur-Raheem against Pervez Musharraf while Justice Athar Minullah and Justice Mian Gul Hasan Orangzeb conducted the hearing. Counsel of the petitioner adopted stance in the court that former President showed Rs one billion assets in his nomination papers.
He said how these assets were made from the salary? He prayed the court to order the NAB to investigate it.
The court in its remarks said that the court cannot issue orders to launch investigation against anyone. It said the court’s directives to NAB were against the fair trial. The lawyer of the applicant giving arguments cited that Supreme Court had issued directives in Nawaz Sharif’s case.
He said when Supreme Court can issue directives in Nawaz Sharif case why not in this case.
Justice Athar Minullah remarked that matters would be taken up in accordance of law. The court reserved the verdict whether the petition is maintainable or not.
