Major intellectual property theft case opens in Dubai., involving UAE-based company

WASHINGTON DC : In a significant development in the realm of international law and intellectual property rights, a criminal case has been filed in Dubai Central Court against multiple individuals accused of a multimillion-dollar theft.

The defendants, identified as Mr. Habib Khan, Ghiyas ud din, Abdul Rahman, Tariq Khan, and Zafar Iqbal, along with several unnamed facilitators, are facing charges for allegedly stealing intellectual property and stocks worth seven million dollars from Stanley Oil and General Petroleum International FZE, a prominent business entity based in the United Arab Emirates and USA.

The company, led by noted businessman Syed Lakht I Hasnain, alleges that the accused unlawfully accessed and misappropriated confidential information, trade secrets, stock, and proprietary technology crucial to their operations and competitive positioning in the market. This intellectual property is reported to be of significant value, impacting the company’s standing and future prospects significantly.

Legal authorities in the UAE and the USA are collaborating closely on this case, highlighting the international implications of the alleged crimes.
