Man detained for stealing gold in Balkh

MAZAR-I-SHARIF (Pajhwok): A man has been arrested on charges of stealing 5.730 kilograms of gold in Mazar-i-Sharif, the capital of northern Balkh province, an official said on Sunday.

Police spokesman Hafiz Mohammad Isa Wasiq said the suspect was detained in the 10th police district of Mazar-i-Sharif city but did not provide further details.

He added that the detainee would be referred to judicial authorities after the initial investigation is completed.
