Man killed, two injured in road accident

SARGODHA (INP): A man was killed while two others sustained injuries in a road accident here on Sunday.
According to Rescue-1122, the accident occurred near Bhagtawala where a recklessly driven truck hit a motorcycle and as a result of which Arif 38, died on the spot while Naeem 23, and Ulfat 32, sustained injuries.
The victims were shifted to a local hospital. Police were investigating the incident.
APP adss: A woman was shot dead by her husband over a family dispute here at Ditta Khel, on Sunday.
Police said that 49-year-old Irfan Musazai had a dispute with his 44-year-old wife Nimra on some family issues. Both exchanged harsh words on Sunday and the husband, in a fit of rage, shot dead his wife.
Police concerned reached the spot, shifted the body to nearby hospital to fulfill legal requirements.
28 ‘criminals’ arrested
Police have arrested 28 alleged criminals and recovered drugs and weapons from them in the district.
A spokesperson said on Sunday that the police teams arrested five proclaimed offenders (POs) and nine drug-pushers. The police recovered 5-kg hashish and 89 litres of liquor from them.
The police also arrested four gamblers and recovered stake money from them.
Another police team arrested 10 alleged robbers and recovered seven pistols, a rifle and a number of bullets from them.
Two bootleggers held
Urban area police claimed to have arrested two bootleggers and recovered liquor from their possession.
Police said on Sunday the Urban area police in a raid arrested Rashid and Nazeer Maseeh and recovered 500 liters liquor from their possession.
Further investigation was underway.
