Man proposes to girlfriend on Burj Khalifa’s LED panel

DUNAI: The proposal was beamed on the Burj Khalifa hours before the world’s tallest tower begins its iconic annual fireworks and laser show.

Sergej Schander took his love for his girlfriend literally to a higher level.

On New Year’s Eve, the German national made a marriage proposal to his girlfriend Loredana that was beamed on the Burj Khalifa, hours before the world’s tallest tower begins its iconic annual fireworks and laser show.

“Loredana, willst du mich heiraten? (Loredana, will you marry me?),” was flashed for a second at 7.30pm on Tuesday, witnessed by tens of thousands around the world who are seeing the live broadcast on social media, including the Khaleej Times official Facebook account

Khaleej Times and the PR and marketing team of Emaar are trying to contact Schander to know what was the reply of Loredana.

Burj Khalifa also beamed to the world wishes that were sent by residents and tourists to their loved ones, friends or home country, using #EmaarNYE2020.
