ANKARA (AA): Turkey’s manufacturing industry’s capacity utilization rate slightly rose on a monthly basis in January, the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey (CBRT) revealed on Friday.
The figure rose 74.4 this month, up 0.3 percentage point from December 2018, the bank survey showed.
The capacity utilization rate (CUR) figures are based on the responses given to its business tendency survey by local units operating in the manufacturing industry, according to the bank.
A bank report said that while some 1,753 companies responded to the survey this month, the monthly data does not reflect the bank’s views or predictions.
Among main industrial groups side, the highest CUR was 74.5 percent for investment goods, while the lowest capacity usage was 67.7 percent in durable consumer goods.
On the sectoral side, the highest capacity usage was seen in the manufacturing of paper and paper products with 81.77 in the month, while the lowest was seen in leather and related products sector with 59.30.
