Marriyam Aurangzeb: Imran Khan playing with national interest

F.P. Report

ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Marriyam Aurangzeb hit out at Imran Khan, saying the PTI chief is a liar who is playing with national interest.

In a presser on Saturday, the minister claimed that Imran Khan is not afraid of breaking the law; he brainwashed the youth and then incited them to attack state institutions and create anarchy. Despite that, he was granted relief and exemption by the court, she added.

She alleged that Imran Khan dissolved National Assembly fearing the success of the no-confidence motion. “Imran Khan persistently misses court hearings; but still courts grant him relief. It was court’s order to arrest Imran Khan and produce him before it; government’s involvement in this matter was non-existent,” she added.

She maintained that police had no weapons and were attacked with petrol bombs, sticks and stones by PTI fanatics.

Nowhere in the world, according to her, does a criminal show up in court with a convoy, adding that he is using women and children as shield to avoid arrest.

She continued by saying that during the PTI’s tenure, journalists were detained, kidnapped and Imran Khan earned the reputation of a “predator of journalists” internationally.

He put opposition leaders behind the bars in sham cases, she continued, therefore, he should be held responsible for the present economic turmoil, inflation, destroying economy, rendering the youth jobless, current and spreading anarchy and inciting civil war.

Now that the economy is on right track, he wishes to destroy it once more by fomenting political unrest in the nation, she said.
