Masaud says government fuelling national differences

KANDAHAR: Head of Ahmad Shah Masaud Organization, Ahmad Wali Masaud has said the National Unity Government was fuelling differences in the country.

Talking to reporters in Kandahar on Wednesday, Masaud said the country was passing through crisis. The country needed change in many sectors, he added.

He said the government had failed to restore peace, provide jobs to people and implement the writ of law.

Accusing the government of inefficiency, he said the Kabul administration had been fuelling differences rather than performing its responsibilities. He demanded of the nation to support him for the protection of their rights and restoration of national stability.

Lauding the security of Kandahar, he said it was the credit of police chief General Abdul Raziq.

On the occasion, Kandahar provincial assembly chairman Syed Jan Khakrezwal and other speakers stressed on national unity and urged the government to utilize all-out efforts for the restoration of peace. They assured to support the government for this purpose.

Tribal elders and some parliamentarians are also accompanying Ahmad Wali Masaud during his ongoing visit to Kandahar.

According to Masaud, his visit is aimed at discussing the prevailing situation of Kandahar with the people and pointing out ways to address the issues.
