Mashal’s case verdict to be announced today

HARIPUR: Anti-terrorism court (ATC) Abbottabad will announce the judgment of Mashal Khan murder case on Wednesday which was reserved after the completion of the hearing on January 27, 2018.

The Central Jail Haripur is heavily guarded and banned for all sorts of media. Special Judge ATC Fazal-i-Subhan Khan heard the case during more than five months where the court also recorded the statements of 57 accused.

Mashal Khan, a 23-year-old student of Mass Communication and media studies at the Abdul Wali Khan University.

He was lynched by an angry mob to death on April 13, 2017 after allegations of blasphemy.

The Peshawar High Court had transferred the case from Mardan to ATC Abbottabad and heard in Central Jail Haripur under strict security measures.
