MATIARI: Recovery efforts continued on Sunday for five missing passengers after six people drowned when a ferry capsized in Indus River near Sindh’s Matiari district.
Deputy Commissioner Jamshoro Captain Fariddudin Mustafa said help of Pakistan Navy had been sought for the search and rescue.
A day earlier, a boat carrying 14 passengers en route to Jamshoro from Matiari overturned. Six passengers had been retrieved, while locals and navy had launched a search and rescue for the remaining.
Officials said the deceased included four women and two men, while those aboard the ferry also included children.
