MARDAN: City Mayor Himayat Ullah Mayar, an advocate for women’s rights, has expressed that women are the adornment and dignity of any human society, and safeguarding all their rights and privileges is a collective responsibility.

He shared these thoughts during a sixteen-day activism event against violence on women organized by Saiban Development Organization Mardan under the umbrella of W.W.L (Women, Work, and Leadership). The occasion included meetings with women counselors and members of the Soul City Women delegation.

Saiban Development Organization’s Muhammad Arif and Nighat Seema informed the City Mayor about the formidable challenges faced by women in Mardan. They emphasized the need for immediate actions to overcome these challenges, urging women counselors to play a role in resolving women’s issues.

He emphasized that over half of the country’s population comprises women, holding a significant position in every aspect. He stressed that until we walk together with our women, the dream of national progress cannot be realized.

Mayar acknowledged the crucial role Pakistani women play in various fields, stating that their contribution is not only essential to the economy but also comparable to the backbone of the nation. He highlighted the reality that due to economic inequality, women are dependent on men in all aspects of life.
