McCaul: catastrophic withdrawal from Afghanistan to remain a stain on US foreign Policy

KABUL (Khaama Press): Michael McCaul, the Chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee in the United States, deemed the withdrawal from Afghanistan “deadly,” “chaotic,” and “catastrophic.”

Mr. McCaul stated that this retreat will stain America’s foreign policy for generations.

The Chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee in the United States made these remarks on Thursday during the committee’s hearing with Antony Blinken, the U.S. Secretary of State.

The Chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee in the United States has described the withdrawal from Afghanistan as the beginning of a display of weakness by this country on the global stage, citing the war in Ukraine and tensions in the Middle East, stating: “It all started with the fall of Afghanistan.”

He said, “After the shameful withdrawal from Afghanistan, this administration displayed weakness on the world stage.”

In a newsletter released by this committee, quoting Michael McCaul, it is stated that shortly after America’s withdrawal from Afghanistan, Russia deployed its forces on the border with Ukraine.

According to the Chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee in the United States, “the world is on fire” now. According to this American official, the Middle East is on the brink of a full-scale war, and China is testing an attack on Taiwan.

Mr. McCaul criticized the Biden administration, stating that after America’s withdrawal from Afghanistan, “this administration showed its weakness on the world stage.” He added, “Despite the President’s promise to evacuate everyone, we now know that over a thousand Americans and nearly 200,000 Afghan partners have been left behind.”

The Chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee in the United States also condemned the Taliban’s use of American cash assistance as unacceptable two days ago. Michael McCaul urged the Biden administration to take immediate action to prevent the transfer of financial funds from the US to the Taliban.
