ISLAMABAD: A five-member medical board on Sunday, declared all the medical reports of son-in-law of ousted premier Nawaz Sharif Captain (Retd) Mohammad Safdar clear.
However, Capt (Retd.) Safdar will be kept in Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) hospital, for more two days as the reports highlighted some complications.
Earlier, doctors said that Safdar’s sugar level is high while his stomach and other tests have been sent to laboratory. The medical board also reviewed reports of last day.
Doctors said that Safdar has not eaten the food sent from home and is only drinking water due to dried throat. Safdar underwent X-ray/ultraviolet (UV) and ultrasound along with tests of stomach, sugar and blood pressure.
On Thursday, Safdar was shifted to PIMS hospital as his health deteriorated in Adiala Jail. Stern security arrangements were made around premises of the hospital to avoid any untoward situation.
The hospital’s private ward in Cardiac Centre, where Safdar is being treated, has been declared a sub-jail by the chief commissioner Islamabad Capital Territory, until the duration of his stay there.
He is suffering from stomach ulcers and doctors have performed two operations on his stomach.
Capt (Retd.) Safdar is serving a one-year jail term at Adiala jail for not cooperating with NAB, and aiding and abetting Nawaz and Maryam.
