Meeting held at National Book Foundation

KARACHI: A meeting was held at National Book Foundation, Regional office Karachi on January 12, 2023 among the three institutions’ Head of the Departments, Dr. Ghulam Ali Mallah, Secretary, IBCC Islamabad, Mr. Qaiser Alam, Chairman Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education Islamabad, Dr. Raja Mazhar Hameed, Managing Director, National Book Foundation Islamabad and Regional Director, Mr. Javed Memon, Higher Education Commission, Regional Center Karachi.

The following propositions were discussed at length pertaining to educational facilitation under one roof by providing:
a. Resource Center to provide video-conferencing and other IT services to all federal entities working in the region at one place.
b. Strengthening IT Infrastructure with the state of art facilities including high-powered computing facilities where various learning skills can be accessed to build the capacity of teachers of schools, colleges and universities.

c. The access to books pertaining to fiction, non-fiction, applied and pure sciences to be made available for the public.

The same proposition was floated to Honorable Federal Minster for Education and Professional Training, Rana Tanveer Hussain.
After detailed discussion consent was conceded by Federal Minister for the required proposition and National Book Foundation, Managing Director, extended his consent to give land for the required proposition for such a noble cause.

This facilitation will go along way for public utility in relation to one window access towards Higher Education Commission and other Departments of Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training.

This initiative would further encourage the provincial education departments to align with the polices of federal Government.
The Federal Minister directed Higher Education Commission to immediately submit the implementation plan for the execution of the proposal.
