PESHAWAR: The national level mega technology competition NUTEC-2018 award ceremony was held which was attended by Justice Retd Mian Muhammad Ajmal Khan as Chief Guest on the occasion. The chief guest awarded shields and prizes among the winners of competitions in domains of Computer Sciences, Electrical Engineering, Sports and Social Events. Overall, more than 800 participants competed in the three day long technology extravaganza organized by FAST National University Peshawar. Besides, technology competition, this year NUTEC 2018 scope has been further strengthened with inclusion of Alumni Homecoming, Job Fair, Open House, Food court, Social competitions sports and conduct of musical night.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Guest reiterated the importance of co-curricular and extra-curricular activities to which little attention is paid. He lauded the efforts of FAST-peshawar campus and hoped that the event will act as a springboard for students to showcase their technical and social talents on a wide array of competitions.
The Director Campus Engr. Dr. Muhammad Tariq announced that preparations for NUTEC 2019 will start from today to make this event of technology, art, design and culture even a bigger extravaganza in the country.
He apprised the audience of his vision to make Peshawar a mini silicon valley where each student comes up with his or her own startup towards contributing to nation building. Dr. Muhammad tariq said that this event is truly entrepreneurial in a sense that students had managed sponsorship from corporate bodies in a mutually beneficial manner. In fact such events helps to stitch up the local industry and academia gap and set up public narrative and discourse in the right direction towards prosperous Pakistan.
The convenor of NUTEC 2018 Muhammad Tariq Yousafzai thanked all the participants, staff , faculty and participants from 51 universities for being a part of this mega competition held on an unprecedented scale.
He also thanked the President of student Body Shaleem John, General Secretary Ali Raza and Chairman Awais Khan.
The best ambassador award was given to students from Cecos University Peshawar who also won circuit design and interface-a-thon and Husn e Qirat competitions. Moreover, Quiz competition in electrical engineering was won by FAST University team comprising of Fizza Khan and Faiq Khan.
