Meghna Gulzar approaches Ranveer Singh for a film based on Sam Manekshaw

MUMBAI: Meghna Gulzar plans to recreate the life of Field Marshal. Sam Manekshaw on the big screen after Deepika Padukone’s Chhapaak, approaches Ranveer Singh to play the revered soldier. While Deepika Padukone is all geared up for Chhapaak, in which she plays the acid survivor Laxmi Agarwal, director Meghna Gulzar it seems is keen on working with Deepika’s husband Ranveer Singh as well.

According to reports, Meghna is planning her next film already based on the life and times of Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw. She has shared the idea of her next with the actor over a discussion and Ranveer too seemed to like it. Although he is yet to give an official nod to the project.

As of now, Ranveer Singh is busy with the making of ’83 in which he will be seen reliving Kapil Dev’s as the captain of the historic World Cup winning team. The film also stars Pankaj Tripathi as Man Singh, Ammy Virk as Balwinder Singh Sandhu, Chirag Patil as his father Sandip Patil, Hardy Sandhu as Madan Lal,  Saqib Saleem as Mohinder Amarnath, and Sunil Gavaskar will be played by Tahir Raj Bhasin. The movie will be shot in England and Scotland for 100 days and is slated to release in 2020.
