Member of Ahmadi community shot dead in Peshawar

PESHAWAR: A member of an Ahmadi community was shot dead by unknown gunmen on late Wednesday night in the jurisdiction of Shah Qabool police station of Peshawar.

While talking to The Frontier Post, Spokesperson of police told that the deceased was identified as Miraj Ahmad son of Mahmood resident of Sheikh Muhammadi village, presently residing in Gulberg area of Peshawar. 
The deceased was on way to home when some unidentified persons riding on motorbike opened fire on him in a result he received several injuries but later he succumbed to injuries, spokesperson added.The police investigation team collected the evidences from the crime scene and started further investigation in this regard.
The deceased was running a medical store at the Khyber Medical Center, located at Dabgari Garden area of Peshawar while the shopkeepers of the market confirmed that Miraj was belonged to Ahmadi community and he was open supporter of Ahmadi, but on the other side police official said that this was not yet confirm that he was Ahmadi or not. Police registered case on the complaint of his son named, Yasir Ahamad and initiated the investigation to find out the reasons behind the murder.
Earlier on 30 July, 2020, a man namely Tahir Ahmad Waseem, who was also an Ahmadi was killed by a young man, Faisal Khalid over a charge of blasphemy in the courtroom of Peshawar Judicial Complex.An accused, Khalid after shooting the deceased said that Tahir Waseem was the enemy of Islam and Pakistan. Soon after the incident, the police personnel present at the courtroom arrested the accused and seized the pistol from him used in the crime.
