Members of Ansar-ul-Sharia arrested in Multan, Quetta raids

KARACHI: Intelligence agencies arrested a suspected accomplice of Ansar-ul-Sharia Pakistan in a raid conducted in part of Multan district on Thursday morning.

The local media reported that the arrested suspect was identified as Talha Ansari who was hiding in Multan after escaping from Karachi and committing terrorist’s activities. Police are actively conducting raids against Ansar-ul-Sharia Pakistan group members.

The terrorist group made headline after its members of the group attacked MQM-P leader Khawaja Izhar-ul-Hasan and later they were arrested by the police.

The arrested suspect has been shifted to undisclosed location for further investigation.

Meanwhile, Security forces claimed to arrested two other suspected persons linked to be Ansar-ul-Sharia from Quetta and Pishin and one of these said to be professor at the Karachi University, identified as Mushtaq, and the other was namely Mufti Habibullah owns seminaries in Karachi and Hyderabad.

Earlier in the week, the chief of Ansar-ul-Shariah Pakistan, identified as Dr Abdullah Hashmi was also arrested from Karachi.
