Monitoring Desk

KABUL: The German Chancellor Angela Merkel sent a message, in German, to Ashraf Ghani congratulating him on his second term.

Merkel in the statement called on President Ghani to carry out his difficult task with “determination and calm,” in this “crucial time.” The peace process will open the gates for the end of the war, read the statement.

The German Chancellor added that lasting peace in Afghanistan depends on integrating all political and civil groups into the country’s structure.

Merkel said that Afghanistan is a country making every effort to create a comprehensive government and national structure. Markel also said that he is helping Afghanistan achieve lasting peace and stability. (TOLOnews)
