ISLAMABAD: Advisor to Prime Minister on Finance, Dr Miftah Ismail has taken oath as the federal minister for finance, revenue and economic affairs on Friday hours before the budget presentation in the national assembly.
President Mamnoon Hussain administered the oath to Ismail on Friday at the President house. Senior government and party officials were present during the ceremony.
Dr Miftah Ismail will present last budget of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) of its tenure in the National Assembly today.
In December last year, the federal government had appointed Ismail as the adviser to the prime minister on finance, revenue and economic affairs with the status of federal minister.
Ismail, a political economist, holds a PhD from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.
