F.P. Report

D I KHAN: Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs and Northern Areas, Sardar Ali Amin Gandapur Monday said he was making efforts to acquire land for Agriculture University D I Khan on urgent basis and reinstatement of class-4 employees expelled from Gomal University.

Talking to media, the Minister said he has contacted the Vice Chancellor of Gomal University the other day to apprise himself regarding progress in acquirement of land for Agriculture University. He said he has directed for handing over the government land of Gomal University to Agriculture University as soon as possible so as to take forward the mission of PTI to boost educational activities.

The Minister regretted over the financial issues of Gomal University and non-payment of pension to its retired employees and said these issues should be resolved on priority basis adding that Gomal University should be provided with sufficient funds after it hands over land for Agriculture University — to enable the university to carry forward its financial matters without any restrain.

Gandapur said he has asked the VC Gomal University to wholeheartedly play a positive role for reinstatement of employees expelled during a protest strike some months ago. Tolerating the point of view of others was the beauty of democracy, he said. Protection of rights of every person of his constituency was his duty as an MNA from the area adding he said he himself has a habit to pardon his opponents whether personal or political.

Removing someone from his job, he said was a regrettable act and against the vision of his party which came into power after winning the hearts and votes of downtrodden people. Gandapur continues that Chancellor of Gomal University, Governor Shah Farman will also be requested to reinstate the sacked employees of the university.

With establishment of Agriculture University in Dera Ismail Khan, the Minister said a journey of revolution in education sector will take a start not only in the district but in the entire region.

The university, he added will not only benefit students from Dera Ismail Khan and adjoining areas but students from Punjab will also come here to acquire quality education.
